Company dinner in Barcelona: 6 places in the centre, and what to ask before you book
Santa Anna · Carrer de Santa Anna 8, Barcelona · since 1929
Organising a company dinner in Barcelona means finding somewhere you all fit, at a fixed price you can put through accounts, with no surprises on the bill. Here are six restaurants in the centre that take groups, and the questions worth asking before you book any of them. One thing to know first: we write this from Santa Anna, a family restaurant on Carrer de Santa Anna, and Santa Anna is on the list. Read what we say about ourselves the way you would read any restaurant writing about itself.
They are not ranked one to six: we have grouped them by what each one does best. The prices come from the group menus each restaurant sends out, and everything else was checked on their websites or by phone on 30 September 2026.
What to ask before you book a company dinner
These six questions work anywhere, ours included. If a restaurant cannot answer one of them, that is an answer in itself.
Is it a fixed price per person, with VAT included? A set menu has a price per head that does not change. Ask for it in writing, and ask whether VAT is included: on a company invoice, that difference shows. Every price on this list includes it.
Which drinks are included, and how much? Almost every group menu includes wine and water in a fixed ratio, and the ratio varies a lot: a bottle for every two people at Núria, one for every three at Santa Anna, one for every four at Can Culleretes. Anything beyond that, soft drinks or drinks after dinner, is usually extra. Ask what it costs and when they start charging for it.
One table or several? At a company dinner, sitting together matters. Ask whether the group fits at one long table, whether you will be split across several tables in the same dining room, or whether there is a space just for you.
Is there a deposit, and until when can you change the numbers? In December someone always drops out at the last minute. Ask until which day you can change the number of guests without paying for empty seats. At 7 Portes, for example, the booking is only confirmed once you pay the deposit, and the menu is invoiced two days before the dinner.
How far ahead? For a Friday or a Saturday, book two weeks ahead; for other days, the same week is usually enough.
What about allergies and diets? In a big group there is often someone who is coeliac, vegetarian or has an allergy. Ask whether the menu has an alternative, and tell them when you book, not on the day.

If you need a space just for the group
Núria. On the Rambla de Canaletes, level with Plaça de Catalunya. It has a restored 1920s room that can be booked whole for up to 70 people, and it takes groups from eight. It asks for bookings at least three days ahead and warns that, depending on numbers, a deposit may be needed. Its nine group menus run from €25 to €47 a head, VAT included, and all of them include drinks: a bottle of wine for every two people, or sangria, or half a litre of beer each, plus water. Coffee or tea is €1,30 extra. The simplest, the Capricho, is a salad, a choice of fish or chicken, and crema catalana. Rambla de Canaletes, 133.
7 Portes. On Passeig d’Isabel II, between the Born and the port. It has nine private and semi-private spaces of different sizes, with a projector, screen and sound system in case someone has to give a speech or show slides. Its 2026 group menus run from €52 to €69 a head, VAT included, and all of them include starters to share, a choice of main course, dessert, wine, coffee and tea. The whole group has to choose the same menu. The booking is confirmed when you pay the deposit, which comes off the bill and is not refunded if you cancel less than four days ahead. Groups of 40 or more are on separate terms. Passeig d’Isabel II, 14.
Santa Anna. On Carrer de Santa Anna, thirty metres from La Rambla. As well as the main dining room, we have a separate dining room that is booked for one group at a time, for up to 40 people: we put the tables together and the group has the room to itself. It is booked by phone or email, with the same four group menus, from €22 to €43 a head. Carrer de Santa Anna, 8.
If you want classic Catalan cooking in the Gothic Quarter
Can Culleretes. On Carrer d’en Quintana, in the middle of the Gothic Quarter, open since 1786. Groups of six or more book by phone or email, and it has a space of its own for them. Its group menus run from €25,50 to €40,50 a head, VAT included, with a bottle of wine for every four guests, and there is a special 1786 menu at €32. Carrer d’en Quintana, 5.
Els 4 Gats. On Carrer de Montsió, a step from Portal de l’Àngel, in the 1897 modernista café where Ramon Casas and the young Picasso used to meet. It has no group menu: up to 16 people can book a table online and order from the menu, so it suits a small team better than the whole company. Carrer de Montsió, 3.
If you would rather share plates at a long table
La Alcoba Barcino. On Carrer del Correu Vell, in the lower part of the Gothic Quarter. It has three group menus, at €39, €45 and €48 a head with VAT included. Every dish is shared between four, except the bread and dessert, which are for two, and all drinks are included until dessert: water, soft drinks, cava, wine and beer. Each venue takes up to 40 people, and the same owners run a second place in the Call, El Bandoler. Carrer del Correu Vell, 10.
Santa Anna. We are a family restaurant, here since 1929, in the Gothic Quarter, a six-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya. If the group does not need a room of its own, we put tables together in the main dining room and set a long table. There are four group menus, from €22 to €43 a head, for ten people or more, booked by phone or email. The simplest is the Menú Tapeo at €22: seven tapas to share, dessert, and water with wine or sangria. We are open every day and the kitchen does not close in the afternoon. All four menus, with every dish, are on the group menus page.
If the budget decides
If price decides it, start with the simplest menus on the list. Santa Anna’s Menú Tapeo is €22 a head with VAT included: seven tapas to share, dessert, and water with wine or sangria, at a bottle or a litre for every three people. Next come Núria’s Capricho at €25 and Can Culleretes’ simplest group menu at €25,50, both with wine and VAT included.
Even so, always compare like with like: price per head with VAT, the drinks included and what is charged on top. And look at the ratio: a bottle for every two people is not the same as one for every four, and a slightly dearer menu with more to drink can work out better than a cheaper one with less.

In winter: when to book
From November to January, with company Christmas dinners, Fridays and Saturdays fill up first: book them at least two weeks ahead. On other days the same week is usually enough. If you can, look at a Thursday or the last week of November: there are more tables and the menu is the same.
Questions people ask
How far ahead should you book a company dinner in December? For a Friday or a Saturday, two weeks; for other days, the same week is usually enough. The bigger the group and the closer to the 20th, the earlier.
What does a set menu include? Usually starters to share, a main course to choose or to share, dessert, and drinks in a fixed ratio per person. Coffee, drinks afterwards and soft drinks are usually extra. On Santa Anna’s Menú Tapeo, for example, a soft drink is €1 extra, and at Núria coffee is €1,30.
Do you have to leave a deposit? It depends on the restaurant and the size of the group. At 7 Portes the booking is only confirmed once you pay the deposit, and you lose it if you cancel less than four days ahead. Núria says it may ask for one depending on numbers. Always ask when you book.
Can you have a late dinner on a Friday in the centre? Yes, in most places. Santa Anna is open every day and closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
